Terms & Conditions

Boarding

  1. Boarding fees are charged per calendar day.

  2. A two-day minimum charge applies regardless of length of stay to cover expenses associated with sanitisation and enclosure turn over.

  3. The owner may elect to bring bedding/toys from home. Every effort is made to ensure the comfort of your cat so while this practice is encouraged, please ensure any such items are machine-washable, clean and flea-free.

  4. In the interest of consistent diet and to ensure your cats’ preferences are met, we require that ALL wet and dry foods are provided by the owner for the length of your cat’s stay.

  5. A deposit is required to confirm your booking and payment options will be provided to you. Bookings are not confirmed until a deposit has been paid unless stated otherwise.

  6. Boarding fees in their entirety are to be paid on or before arrival at Stay and Play Shire Cattery.

  7. Deposits are fully refundable unless cancelling fewer than seven (7) days prior to your cat’s arrival date. Deposits for all school holiday and public holiday periods are not refundable.

  8. Refunds and credits will not be offered for early pick ups or last minute cancellations.

Health and Emergency Procedure

  1. All cats must be de-sexed and fully vaccinated. A copy of your cat’s vaccination certificate MUST be provided on or prior to admission. If this cannot be provided your cat will not be admitted.

  2. Vaccinations must be up to date no less than fourteen (14) days prior to arrival.

  3. Notice of any pre-existing medical conditions and medications to be administered must be provided when booking. Medications should be clearly labelled and prepared (e.g. tablets to be quartered or halved prior to boarding).

  4. Stay and Play Shire Cattery may refuse boarding to arrivals exhibiting signs of contagious illness, including but not limited to inflamed eyes, discharge, conjunctivitis, sneezing, coughing and ulcers.

5. We are flea-free! All cats must be treated with a veterinary grade flea treatment (e.g. Frontline®, Advantage®, Advocate® or Revolution®) at least 3-4 days prior to arrival. If staying longer than a month, please bring a second dosage to be applied by Stay and Play Shire Cattery. If your cat is found to have fleas or flea dirt, a treatment will be applied at a cost of $15.

6. If veterinary attention is necessary the owner is liable for all such expenses. Every effort will be made to contact the owner but in the event contact is not achieved we will act in the best interests of the cat and all relevant costs will be passed to the owner. For this reason, we capture your credit card details prior to your cat’s stay.

7. Wherever possible, we will work with your nominated preferred vet. In the event they are fully booked or unavailable, we will pass care to Heathcote Veterinary Clinic.

8. Under no circumstances will Stay and Play Shire Cattery be held responsible for illness, injury, death, loss or damage of any kind whatsoever that may occur to any cat staying at Stay and Play Shire Cattery.
